Department Introduction

With the goal of meeting employment demands in the electrical and information technology fields, the department focuses on enhancing graduates’ competitiveness and has developed three key features:

  1. Project Competitions: To cultivate integration and practical skills, students regularly participate in the National Intelligent Robotics Competition, earning outstanding achievements and extensive media coverage. The department won the overall championship for three consecutive years (2020, 2021, 2022) and received awards in multiple categories:
    • Overall Team Champion
    • Self-driving Vehicle Competition: First, second, and third place
    • Robotic Ant Racing: First, second, and third place
    • Self-driving Vehicle Heavy Load Challenge: First, second, and third place
    • Arm Vehicle Bottle Transport Challenge: First, second, and third place
  2. Skill Certification: The department has developed a certification roadmap, integrating practical coursework with after-school tutoring programs. Faculty members voluntarily mentor students in obtaining professional certifications, with the goal of graduating with over eight certifications, enhancing employability. Certification areas include:
    • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
    • Industrial Wiring
    • Indoor Wiring (Household Circuit Installation)
    • Industrial Electronics
    • Microcontroller Certification
    • Power Electronics
    • Computer Hardware Maintenance
    • PCP Certification
    • MOS Certification
    • TQC Certification
    • Water Pipe Installation
  3. Internships: To enhance students’ hands-on experience and prepare them for the workforce, the department implements both summer and year-round internship programs. Since 2015, the department has signed memorandums of cooperation with organizations such as Taipei Vocational Development Institute, Jiezhen Property (TECO Group), Hexin Electromechanical (CTBC Group), Hsinchu Management (Shin Kong Group), and Taipei Gas Corporation. These partnerships promote the industry-academia-training model, ensuring students gain practical skills aligned with industry needs, facilitating a seamless transition from graduation to employment, and addressing the demand for high-quality technical talents—creating a win-win scenario for academia, industry, and training institutions.
